A destination wedding in a castle near Siena
A wedding doesn't have to be limited to just a few hours.
This wedding was a three-day experience at a castle near Siena. Eighty guests traveled to Tuscany, 45 of whom stayed on the estate and spent three days there together.

Day 1
Welcome BBQ & Arrival at Castello
The first evening should deliberately remain relaxed.
For this purpose, we organized a self-organized Welcome BBQ directly at the Castello.
Meat, drinks, side dishes, and decorations were sourced locally. With around 60 guests on the first day, it was particularly important to realistically estimate the quantities and offer enough variety without going overboard.
Not everything can be precisely calculated in advance. Especially with such a large group, planning is therefore not only necessary, but also some research, experience, and sometimes a good gut feeling.
In the end, this was exactly the right start to the three days; the guests were able to arrive in peace, get to know the Castello, and enjoy the first evening together.
Day 2
Registry office in Siena & pizza party
The civil wedding ceremony took place in Siena on the second day.
This also included direct communication and coordination with the registry office beforehand, so that all necessary steps for the wedding ceremony were prepared.
After the ceremony, everyone went to a prosciutteria. There, a small champagne reception with Italian specialties awaited them, along with time to toast the newly married couple.
Afterwards, we returned to the Castello, where the day ended with a relaxed pizza party by the pool.
Day 3
Wedding at the Castello
The actual wedding celebration took place on the third day.
The festivities began with a free-form wedding ceremony held directly at the Castello. Afterwards, the guests enjoyed an aperitivo featuring various cheeses, sausages, and other regional specialties.
During and afterwards, a Tuscan folk band provided the perfect atmosphere and brought that very special Italian feeling back into the evening.
Then it became even more personal.
The wedding cake wasn't simply served ready-made. The bride and groom were allowed to decorate it themselves with a piping bag and fresh fruit, thus taking on the final step together.
Afterwards, the bar was opened and the evening slowly transitioned from dinner to celebration.
It was precisely the blend of planned events and relaxed, personal moments that made the day so special. The day should never feel like a rigid schedule for the bride and groom.
Because a large part of the actual organization takes place in advance precisely for this purpose.
Three days, many individual decisions
From a self-organized Welcome BBQ, the civil wedding ceremony in Siena followed by a pizza party, and a free wedding ceremony with a wedding reception at the Castello, three completely different days emerged.
To ensure that these experiences ultimately feel natural and relaxed for the guests, one thing above all is needed in the background:
Structure.
Service providers need to be coordinated. Timings must be precise. Budgets must be kept under control. And if something doesn't go as planned, a solution is needed before the bride and groom and their guests even realize there was a problem.
Several guests subsequently described this wedding as the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.
And that is precisely the goal in the end:
Not a wedding where you can see how much was organized.
But a wedding that simply feels right.
